Chobots, the educational world that , has reached 100,000 registered users. While the public beta launched in October, the company didn't begin a marketing campaign until the end of December. With partnerships with portals like Primary Games, the bulk of the users come from United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada and have signed up in the last 40 days according to the company. The virtual world is also beginning its premium services.
Chobots remains free to play overall, but subscriptions, ranging from $2.99 to $5.99 per month, will offer extra benefits, including exclusive clothes, upgrades for users virtual houses, and more. In the future Chobots plans to roll out extra furniture, pet upgrades, and new areas for subscribers.
"I do realize that the number of registered accounts is a very basic parameter for virtual world success estimation. Users may register and then leave. We are more proud with 30+ community blogs created about Chobots and hundreds of Youtube videos," added Chobots CEO Vadim Yeremeychuk. "These parameters estimate actual efficiency of a virtual world. Our goal is reaching 1M registered accounts in 2009, but the ultimate goal is building strong community which highly appreciates unique Chobots world atmosphere."
Chobots continues to look for partners for distribution and to reach new markets.
